Fashion Week FW1819 trends you need to know

Fashion trend 1: layering

Layering is here to stay and we are very happy with that. It is one of our favorite fashion trends for the upcoming season. During the ice-cold winters, we need either some one or some layers to keep us warm. Looking at the shows of Chanel, Balenciaga and Prada, we rather choose those finger-licking layers. Fashion trend 2: western

Are you ready to take the cowgirl look to a higher level in 2018? We surely are after taking a look at the new collections of Isabel Marant, Calvin Klein and Raf Simons. Go back to the wild, wild west and spice up every outfit with a hint of country. Below: Isabel Marant and Sacai (pre-spring).

Fashion trend 3: padded jackets

Comfortable jackets and other comfortwear is a central trend among the big fashion trends for winter 2018-2019. We saw them at Prada, Chanel, Sacai and Alexander MqQueen. From oversized silhouettes to fitted, feminine jackets. Just as with the layering trend, we are a big fan. No need for catching up a cold during the winter. Below: Prada.

Fashion trend 4: eighties silhouettes

The 80ies have been trending during the past seasons – if not years. The cool decade this shows its big influence in the form of bold shoulder silhouettes. We can easily say: the bigger the better – at least if we have to believe Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs and Fendi. Below: Saint Laurent.

Fashion trend 5: folklore flower bombs

If we have to name a brand that’s very good at predicting trends, we would pick Gucci. With its over-the-top vintage and flowery prints, Gucci’s designer Allessandro Michele takes the flower trend to a higher level. From maxi dresses to mini skirts: everything seems to be possible. You can either choose to keep it in the chic side or to go all over and dress up like a flower bomb by combining prints and patterns. Do you dare? Below: Gucci and Comme des Garcons.

Fashion trend 6: big parkas

Balenciaga and Maison Margiela know it right: parkas are here to stay. They are not only fashionable, but also suited for cold and rainy winters. Another very functionable winter trend for 2018-2019. We hope it is here to stay. In case it’s not, we will ignore it. Below: Vetements.

Fashion trend 7: hologram

No need for a mirror: reflective and shiny materials were big in the winter 2018-2019 shows of Sies Marjan and Balmain. The bold and plastic-fantastic trend might not be for those who are afraid to stand out. Be prepared for gazing people. Below: Sies Marjan.

Besides trends, we are big supporters of timeless wardrobe pieces. Go check them out and decide for yourself.
