Despite that most looks of an average haute couture show aren’t very wearable in daily life, we can derive (and predict) some trends from it. During Paris Haute Couture Week 2019, however, many looks were very wearable. Not only to a prom night, but also to your average (slightly posh) party.

1. Oversized suits
Seen at: Chanel, Armani Privé, Givenchy, Fendi, Ronald van der Kemp
The tuxedo suit has been a hit since Yves Saint Laurent introduced it in 1966. However, the past decades the classical has moved to the background until a couple of seasons ago. Since last seasons, the suit has appeared in many different executions. Where we kicked-off with tailored suits with cropped pants, we’re now evolved to floor-sweeping palazzo pants and oversized blazers. They don’t even have to match to be called a suit.
Amongst others, Chanel showed how powerful the suits still is and can be, even in its most classic form.

2. Dazzling dresses

Embrace your femininity with a dazzling dress. Paris Haute Couture Week seemed to be entirely built upon these big gowns. We can’t complain, since these dresses are extra AF and great to look at.

3. Wild animal prints

Animal prints are here to stay. This fact is proven by the shows of Jean Paul Galtier and Ronald van der Kemp, amongst others. Don’ be afraid to combine giraffe with cheetah and tiger prints. The sky is the limit.

3. Ancient goddesses

Think of your history class about ancient Greece and you know can image how many dresses at the shows of Redemption, Ronald van der Kemp and Valentino looked. A little bit extra, but well suited for an over-the-top party.

4. Pastels all the way

Pastels aren’t only our favorite colors during spring and summer. Fendi and Givenchy prove that soft hues work very well during winter as well. Think of entire suits in pastels, long dresses and soft accessories.
