Rochas appoints Alessandro Vigilante as creative director of ready-to-wear

French luxury house Rochas has appointed the Italian designer to take the helm. Alessandro Vigilante has already earned his stripes at Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci alongside Alessandro Michele, Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini, and The Attico.

Alessandro Vigilante is the new creative director at Rochas

Today, Rochas announced Alessandro Vigilante they have appointed Alessandro Vigilante as their new Creative Director. By doing so, Rochas, now under the helm of Interparfums, takes an enchanting stride forward in recalibrating its fashion domain. Philippe Bénaçin, CEO of Interparfums, is very pleased with the collaboration: “I am delighted to welcome Alessandro as Creative Director of Ready-To-Wear. His work is defined by elegance, modern femininity, and constant research on women’s body expression. Through his lens, he will write a new chapter for this House built on audacity, femininity, and sophistication.”

A new chapter for Rochas

Vigilante, whose journey commenced as a formally trained contemporary dancer, pirouetted into the realm of haute couture, gracing the ateliers of Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and finally Lorenzo Serafini, before embarking on a solo odyssey with his inaugural collection in 2021. Hailing from the picturesque Puglia, this scion of style honed his craft at the prestigious IED Moda Lab in Milan, graduating with honors. A virtuoso in tailoring and craftsmanship, Vigilante is an avid patron of art, film, photography, and dance.

Alessandro Vigilante added: “I am honored and grateful to be joining the House and for the opportunity to build on the rich and profound heritage of the House. Rochas represents a dedication to French sophistication and a celebration of Womanhood that I find incredibly inspiring. I am looking forward to conveying my vision”. Vigilante will show his debut collection in February during Paris Fashion Week. With a flourish of modernity, he will undoubtedly blend his aesthetic alchemy into the sophisticated, timeless allure intrinsic to the brand DNA since Marcel Rochas’s inception in 1925.
