Line-up Berlin Fashion Week

Themed “The responsible movement of freedom, inclusion, and creativity,” it won’t be long before Berlin Fashion Week is equivalent to Copenhagen Fashion Week. Without copying any other fashion week, Berlin has a fashion-forward and future-oriented approach to the fashion industry, similar to Copenhagen’s week. Berlin Fashion Week’s February schedule strengthens its position as a platform for diversity and craftsmanship; the show calendar represents the bold narrative of Berlin fashion influenced by distinctive subcultures, music, art, and cultural variety.

What to expect

Berlin Fashion Week has set its standards high after the last edition’s focus on craftsmanship, future-oriented collections, and provocative messaging (looking at you, Namilia). Central to the program is the Berlin Contemporary Prize, in which, for the third time, eighteen designers with international potential have been selected. Michael Biel, State Secretary for Economy, Energy, and Businesses: “These young visionaries help to consolidate Berlin as a powerhouse of talent, especially for sustainable fashion. Sustainability is our trademark. Here in Berlin, a brave and fashionable future with global appeal is created.“

A progressive appeal

In addition to the (potential) winners, the German fashion week has more to offer. This season, for example, Marc Cain will be returning to Berlin’s fashion scene, besides fashion houses such as Haderlump, Rebekka Ruétz, Kilian Kerner, Marcel Ostertag, and Danny Reinke.
