Nicolas Ghesquière’s second resort collection without a destination show for Louis Vuitton didn’t disappoint. Despite – or, actually, due to – the home-bound location we still can’t get our heads around it. It was simply too good to digest right after its presentation. Louis Vuitton cruise collection
The Louis Vuitton cruise collection show took place at Axe Majeur, a sculpture garden right outside Paris. The show location made you feel you’re ‘outside time’ – traveling through an entirely different dimension. It was the perfect place to host a catwalk show (without public, though), especially for a collection that evokes space travel longings during a pandemic. Looking at Ghesquière’s personal interests, both the collection and the location seem obvious. His fascination for outer space and sci-fi elements was articulated in both of them.

Hence, the accessories formed an assemblage of heavy chains, uncommon shapes, sharp lines combined with a bright palette.
