ISTANBUL CITY GUIDE
An Istanbul city guide should explain that the city’s energy thrives by its inhabitants, Devran emphasizes. “Istanbul people complete the city; they give it a soul. Every memory made here is special, shaping who I’ve become. My most cherished memory is my first night out as an 18-year-old, stepping into the magical Soho House Istanbul for the first time. With “Around the World” playing in the background, it felt magical.”
BEST NEIGHBOURHOODS TO GO STRUTTING
“Moda on the Anatolian side, and Yenikoy and Cihangir on the European side, evoke the warmest feelings while walking around.”
WHERE DOES THE FASHION CROWD GO FOR A DRINK?
“The fashion crowd enjoys Bebek Hotel for a night out. Alternatively, Nisantasi bars are another favorite option.”
BEST RESTAURANTS IN ISTANBUL
Sankai, located in one of the suites of Bebek Hotel, offers experimental dining and good food. Then there’s Aman da Bravo, another favorite of mine, with its cozy interior and fantastic food. At last, Saloncuma, located in an old Istanbul apartment, offers a delightful menu and a great atmosphere.”
ISTANBUL‘S BEST COFFEE BARS
“Sanayi 313 is a nice place with a cool concept store and an open buffet bakery that complements their coffee. Kronotrop sources coffee from their roasters in Istanbul, and each cup feels like a work of art. And, of course, Pardon, located near the seaside at Rumeli Hisari, should be part of my Istanbul city guide. They offer excellent gluten-free options and a perfect tea selection.”
BEST BARS IN ISTANBUL
“Soho House is my absolute favorite; they offer the best cocktails in Istanbul. Secondly, Lucca has been a local favorite for years, with its cocktails featuring ingredients from its organic garden. Finally, Sail Loft, located in Galataport, is another excellent spot to dance and enjoy the view.”
WHERE TO BRUNCH IN ISTANBUL
“YMRT offers the best juices and amazing egg burgers sourced from their farm. Then there’s Petra Coffee, with three locations, the locals’ favorite spot for its exceptional coffee and brunch options. MSA, a culinary school, is not to miss either. They have an amazing restaurant serving delicious brunch fare.”
ISTANBUL‘S BEST SHOPS
“Shopigo consistently curates the most incredible selection of fashion, sneakers, and lifestyle products. Beauty Omelette features the best selection of everyday clothing, exuding chicness and timelessness. Atelier Rebul offers the finest scents deeply rooted in Turkish culture. Nishane, situated on one of Istanbul’s most aesthetic streets, showcases extraordinary perfumes. PEOPLE WATCHING

ONE THING NOT TO MISS…
“The galleries in Istanbul, like PG Art Gallery and Galerist, always have a great selection near their artist residencies. Don’t miss the current art shows in Istanbul while visiting. And don’t forget to use the sea for transportation, especially at night, which makes you feel like you’re in a dream. Take a day trip to the Princess Islands for an authentic island experience and fantastic restaurants. Be sure to dine at the Splendid Palace. Stop at Çırağan for tea time and admire the modernized Ottoman architecture.”
