Working together with big brands

Pilkington is not just a contemporary artist; she rather likes to describe herself as a motion designer and visual artist. After graduating, she worked for two creative agencies and then started for herself. She felt she needed a different way to express her creativity. Since then, she alternates between commercial projects and more artistic ones, together with self-initiated work.

Big brands have come along her way. Think of Apple, Nike, H&M and many others. These brands seem to be mesmerized by the bold images Pelkington creates. You may recognize Pilkington’s work from Apple commercials. iPhones always display a floating piece of Rose’s art on their screens.

You may also know Rose’s work for H&M. For the AW16 Studio collection Pilkington created the starscape backgrounds of the visuals and commercial. These images were used worldwide and were the talk of town on many [fashion] blogs.

Despite these big assignments, Rose Pilkington likes to create self-initiated work as well. She enjoys playing with colors and textures freely, without the limitations of commercial brands.

Inspired by nature

Currently, nature heavily inspires contemporary artist Rose Pilkington. Think of coral structure and colors, insects and frogs. Furthermore, she likes to go for unexpected combinations of colors. Pilkington plays with blends that seem to clash in first sense, but somehow go very well together. That’s what she likes about working digitally: the possibilities are endless and sometimes she accidentally creates something totally new.

Next steps for contemporary artist Rose Pilkington

Contemporary artist Rose Pelkington is deeply interested in the effect of art on people. She loves the fact that others are drawn into her pieces of art. Despite the endless possibilities of working digitally, she would like to create physical experiences in the future. This may entail real textures and maybe even sculptures. However, she loves art in it purest form: abstract and without portraying anything. We are very excited about what’s next and can’t wait for Rose Pelkington to blow us away with some new kick-ass art.
