Dion Lee

Fashion designer Dion Lee showed a lot of skin at his Fall 2019 show, but without making it tacky. He re-invented the corset as we know it today. He used this old-fashioned garment in new and surprising ways. We predict a new trend. Furthermore, deconstructed coats combined with clean and fancy cycling shorts to make the whole even more surprising. Despite its newness, the entire Fall 2019 collection felt very reliable. Definitely a fashion label to keep an eye on.

Proenza Schouler

During New York Fashion Week Fall 2019, famous fashion house Proenza Schouler kept up its name. The brand, names after the mothers’ maiden names of the two designers, is well known for its authenticity, feminine touch and ‘ease of use’. You will never spot a hard-to-wear garment in one of its collections, since a Proenza Schouler piece should empower the woman who wears it. Their Fall 2019 fashion show at NYFW consisted of materials such as denim and leather. Color usage was mainly black and white. A refreshing combination. We can’t wait till it’s fall.

Dennis Basso

For those who want to release their inner beast, fashion designer Dennis Basso provides the solution with his pre-fall 2019 collection. His entire collection shown at February 10 during New York Fashion Week, is full of animal prints. Don’t think of tacky or shady garments, Basso knows how to dress a classy lady. He inspired this collection on the typical “New York City Girl”, because he thinks every woman secretly wants to be one. Go check it our for yourself below or watch all outfits here.

Tomo Koizumi

Right after his fashion show at New York Fashion Week, Tomo Koizumi was the talk of town. The colorful dresses and designs of this Japanese fashion designer have stolen the hearts of many fashion victims. He transformed the Marc Jacobs store into a flamboyant, cloudy sky. Koizumi’s last minute fashion show was actually more a presentation, with garments of several seasons. However, none of the items seemed to be outdated. Color will always stay on trend.

Gabriela Hearst

Fashion designer Gabriela Hearst shows that sustainability and fashion go hand in hand. On top of her entire Fall 2019 fashion collection was made from resources such as recycled cashmere, fake fur and other sustainable materials, she is also a proud supporter of Our Children’s Trust, a NGO that strives to reduce CO2 levels. Hearst is a big supporter and gives the trust the exposure it deserves. With her collections, Gabriela Hearst wants to make the fashion industry more and more sustainable. We truly hope there will be more women like Gabriela. Hurray for Hearst!

Minor detail: her show was marvelous and made up from timeless pieces.

The Row

Fashion house The Row – founded by the every stylish Ashley Olsen & Mary-Kate Olsen – is well known for its minimalistic and timeless designs. The fashion label doesn’t compromise on quality and never underestimates the utterly importance of good basic. The Row’s classic signature was – of course – the central theme of their fashion show during New York Fashion Week 2019.

It’s not unexpected at all rumor has it that designer brand The Row will become the new Céline (with é) of Phoebe Philo (check out Philo’s inspiring decade at the fashion house here). We think they’ve got a good chance. The feministic touch and eye for detail and timeless design will bring the Olsen twins far. Very far.
