Since its founding in 1946, Dior has woven a rich tapestry of fashion history, punctuated by timeless accessories that transcend fleeting trends. From the Lady Dior, forever linked to Princess Diana and its iconic cannage motif inspired by the gilded Napoleonic chairs of the 19th century, to the Saddle Bag, a Y2K emblem revived with a modern edge, Dior’s handbags are more than functional purses. Now, with the introduction of the D-Journey Bag, Maria Grazia Chiuri adds a fresh narrative to the House’s storied lineage. Cover image: Lara Giliberto

INTRODUCING THE DIOR D-JOURNEY BAG
Unveiled during the spring-summer 2025 ready-to-wear show, the D-Journey embodies a quiet sophistication that feels distinctly of the moment yet rooted in the house’s heritage. Where the Lady Dior is structured and regal, the D-Journey leans into fluidity with supple lines and a relaxed silhouette. It’s designed for those on the move—free-spirited, confident, and effortless.

The bag comes in three sizes—small, medium, and large—catering to diverse lifestyles. Its material palette is equally dynamic. Full leather versions play with texture, from smooth and polished to crinkled and grained, while the House’s beloved cannage pattern makes an appearance, subtly reimagined to suit the D-Journey’s modern aesthetic. For those drawn to Dior’s signature prints, the bag has two canvas options: the classic Dior Oblique jacquard and a bold Dior Graphic statement inspired by archival typography (while quintessentially reminding of Carrie Bradshaw).

What sets the Dior D-Journey Bag apart is not just its design but the craftsmanship behind it. The final flourish? A discreet “Christian Dior Paris” seal, hand-applied with the care and precision that has defined Dior’s ateliers for decades.
